Newton Fire Department (NFD) has seven (7) full-time employees and fourteen (14) volunteers. Newton has a modern fire station built in 1994. Our fire station has five (5) truck bays, sleeping quarters, exercise room, fully-equipped kitchen, and two (2) offices. Newton Fire Department owns two (2) Class-A pumpers, one (1) Class A Rescue Pumper, one (1) 2000 Gallon Pumper Tanker, and two (2) service trucks. NFD responds to approximately 150 fire/rescue calls and approximately 500 first-responder medical assistance calls each year. NFD has provided the citizens of Newton with a Class 6 fire-rating,as established by the Mississippi State Rating Bureau.

VOLUNTEER MEMBERS: Asst.Chief Donald Collins, Ron Davis, Steven Davis, Melvin Evans, James Galloway, Wayne Garrison, Dennis Gordy, Captain Ricky Maske, Butch Meadors, Matt Parks, Michael Parks, Jason Perkins, Willie Ware and Lieutenant Kent Wheeler.
